Mixing together two or more musical sources – One song can fade in as the other fades out, or we can make a seamless ‘in tempo’ switch from one to the next. We can also layer different musical sources in a “mash up” or “remix” style.
Editing music for length – Is the piece you want to use too long or too short? Is there too much repetition? Do you want more repetition? Does the music end too abruptly?
Rearranging music for effective pacing – The best winter guard shows (and their corresponding soundtracks) have effective pacing, form, and structure. In terms of intensity, the music should have highs and lows. The impact moments and transitional moments should be clear and strategically placed along the timeline of your show.
Changing tempo – Music can be edited to sound faster or slower.
Adding narration / voice-over – Speech (recorded by us, the client, or a third party) can be added to the musical selection.
Rehearsal tracks – You can request mp3s customized for your rehearsals. The rehearsal tracks can start at any point in your show and will include an 8 or 16 count ‘count in.’ This makes it easy for you as a colorguard instructor to choose any phrase in the show as a starting point and select the corresponding track on an iPod or CD. No more holding down the scan button to start in the middle of your show!
Click track – Are there parts of your show where the tempo is hard to find? We are able to provide a separate rehearsal track with a metronome is mixed in with the music.
Adding special effects – Sound effects can be added to your soundtrack or other musical effects and filters can be applied to manipulate the sound.
Removal of inappropriate lyrics – Have you found the perfect piece of music for your show but are worried about the lyrical content? Rest assured that we can edit a G-rated version.
Insertion of silence – Would you like to include a 32 count silent rifle feature in your program? We can gladly edit the music to fit and even provide a rehearsal track with a metronome during the silence.
